Choosing a location to buy a holiday lodge is a big decision so it’s important to do your research.
Spend time on the internet, visit locations and ask the locals for first hand advice. Decide what amenities are most important and think about your interests, likes and dislikes about previous holidays you’ve enjoyed. With so much on offer from the British Isles, there’s a lot of research to be done.

TRURO, CORNWALL
As the most southerly city, it’s a location not as well visited as the likes of some of our other suggestions, but it’s a cultural gem in Cornwall’s heart. An ideal area to set down roots away from the more touristy destinations in the South West, but shrouded with impressive architecture, cosmopolitan cafes and restaurants, historical sites such as Truro Cathedral and not to mention its vibrant shopping centre. You’ll find several great holiday lodge locations around Truro, in beautiful settings just a stone’s throw away – metaphorically speaking – from Newquay and Falmouth.
ST IVES
Choosing somewhere close by to this busy and vibrant seaside town could be ideal for your Cornwall holiday home. With lots of fun to be had with your newfound sense of freedom, St Ives is well known for its art scene, especially through as well as its golden sandy beaches and fishing boat lined waters. With cobbled streets, and a picturesque fishing harbour, a holiday lodge set near the delights of St Ives could tick all the boxes.
NORTH CORNWALL
If you’re a keen walker, then around Port Isaac and further north could be the place for you. Have you watched Doc Martin? Well Port Isaac is where it’s filmed and it’s a beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle and ideal if you enjoy holidaying in more tranquil surroundings. Set along a beautiful rugged coastline it’s the perfect spot for walkers, with easy access to the South West Coast Path. A lovely way to spend a day, wake at your holiday lodge, pull on your walking boots and enjoy exploring the Cornwall countryside.
