We are currently seeking a HR Officer based at our production facility for holiday homes in Wimborne, Dorset.
Responsible to the HR Director – working closely with the Founder and Director of Production
Hours of Work – 37 ½ per week – 8am – 5pm Mon-Thurs with a 1-hour lunch break; 8am – 1:30pm Friday.
Place of Work – This position is based in Dorset but may involve travel from time to time.
Main Purpose of Job
Provide operational HR Support to the Regal factory
Key Tasks
- Provide training, coaching and support to line managers on HR policies and procedures and legal requirements, ensuring fairness and consistency
- Deliver effective recruitment, selection and retention solutions
- Contribute to delivering a continuous improvement HR service to enhance efficiency
- Deliver and develop the employee Induction Programme
- Manage the employee administration, management and maintenance of up to date and accurate employee and time & attendance records on HR databases and in manual files
- Monitor and assist managers in the application of the company’s attendance management policy liaising with Occupational Health where applicable
- Facilitate Employee Consultative Committee meetings and team briefings, including taking minutes
- Provide additional administrative support to Production Management as needed
- Lead on a number of site and companywide projects and initiatives, dependent on experience and interests
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced business, manufacturing industry preferred.
- Current knowledge of UK employment legislation, experience managing investigations, grievances and disciplinary hearings.
- The ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks whilst working under pressure
- A “can-do” and flexible attitude and the ability to take ownership of designated tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel is essential, PowerPoint is desirable.
- Experience handling and balancing a variety of responsibilities, prioritising tasks and working as part of a team
- Experience working at a satellite operation, remote from your manager, is preferred
- Confident using HR IT Systems, beyond data entry
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels
- Confidentiality and discretion are essential
