Omar Park Homes Ltd are the UK’s leading manufacturer of residential park homes and luxury lodges currently with manufacturing operations at 2 locations. To assist with their ambitious growth plans and drive for continuous improvement they are seeking an ambitious Factory Manager to join our Hull operation. 

THE ROLE:

As Factory Manager you will report directly to the Director of Production and be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the factory. You will have day-to-day management responsibility for the manufacturing operations team and will ensure the smooth progression of manufacturing, and the delivery of output OTIF through the factory. 

This role is a leadership and management role that would suit someone who is organised, efficient, and a planner, keen to make their own mark on best practice, health and safety management and quality.

HOURS OF WORK: The basic contract will be for 40 hours per week, but should be best described as those required to fulfil the role.   

PLACE OF WORK: The job will be based in Hull, East Yorkshire. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading a team, currently 160 Operators via 9 Supervisors and 3 Production Managers to deliver the build and assembly of residential park homes and luxury lodges to required standards in line with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Lead the team to produce and assemble in line with time critical production schedules
  • Promoting a positive safety-first culture across all production operations
  • Drive and own continuous improvement across manufacturing
  • Ensure thorough quality inspections are conducted as required at the relevant stages
  • Escalate any issues which cannot be resolved to the Director of Production
  • Recruiting, training and developing the team, coaching to improve performance
  • Management of core hours and overtime
  • Leading and positively influencing the factory leadership team

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Proven track record in an operational management role in particular delivering results with a strong emphasis on leading, motivating and developing others
  • Experienced in leading and coaching managers to drive forward results and increase operational performance
  • Excellent communicator
  • Have the ability to influence, build relationships at all levels of a business and to get things done.
  • Able to develop a people-centred culture based on best practice in manufacturing
  • Ambitious and flexible in approach, self-motivated
