We are currently seeking a Buyer / Planner based at our production facility for holiday homes in Wimborne, Dorset.


We are a manufacturer of holiday homes based in Dorset. Part of a larger group (Omar Group), we have enjoyed significant investment in our new manufacturing facility. With a solid order book due to a strong product range, we are looking for committed people to join us on our journey.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer/Planner to join our team. The main responsibility for this role is to process purchase orders, track orders and work with other departments to forecast materials needs. Providing pivotal, logistical, and operational support to the business.

Key Tasks:

  • Liaise cross-functionally to identify purchasing requirements in line with the demand planning process, to procure the correct parts or services that deliver the production forecasts.
  • Process purchase orders and forward to suppliers ensuring delivery time frames are in line with production requirements.
  • Expedite where required and track orders to ensure goods are delivered on time, escalating potential problems appropriately.
  • Build close working relationships with internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Analyse the stock control system and maintain accuracy of data on the MRP system, and collaborate cross functionally to maintain appropriate stock levels in relation to manufacturing requirements
  • Re-alignment of works orders in line with schedule changes.
  • Maintenance of stock codes and associated static data in Sage.
  • Creating forecasts based on the build program.
  • Compile works orders from standard bills of materials within Sage to enable purchase decisions to be made.
  • Bill of materials maintenance for replacement parts, additions etc.
  • Investigation and resolution of works order and stock discrepancies in Sage.
  • Maintain and update Trello and Sage with regards to purchasing promise dates and static data.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for further improvements on products, processes, and services to resolve failures with compliance by communicating effectively to the appropriate Manager.
  • Help to research and select quality products and materials.

Professional Skills/ Abilities/ Qualities

  • At least 1-2 years of Purchasing experience in a similar role preferably.
  • Experience in the use of industry standard MRP systems, purchasing and inventory control management.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills, and able to present data and reports effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and achieve deadlines.
  • High level of care and attention to detail – self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated. Able to work in a small team and be keen to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office products essential, Sage, or similar preferred
