Omar models create a stir at The Motorhome & Caravan Show
Omar ended the show year in style at the recent Motorhome & Caravan Show held at the NEC, Birmingham. With four impressive models on display (two all-new 2019 luxury lodge models and two popular park homes), show-goers could discover the range and quality on offer and also learn more about the lifestyle.
The Motorhome & Caravan Show, the UK’s biggest motorhome and caravanning event, provides the perfect place to be inspired and see all the new 2019 models. With hundreds of models on display, the show attracted over 96,000 visitors who were able to see and compare the latest layouts, finishes and innovations, get advice on all aspects of the industry and much more!
On the Omar stand, two all-new 2019 luxury lodges were on display - the striking Atrium Monopitch with its central open-plan living space and the Alderney with its distinctive split roofline and relaxed holiday vibe. Also on display were two stunning and very different park homes - the cosy and traditional Elveden Cottage and the contemporary Ikon.
Working alongside the Omar team, a number of residential and holiday parks were present on the Omar stand to provide information about their parks and give visitors an insight into the lifestyle. As a new lifestyle concept to many, on both the residential and leisure sides, this proved invaluable, as Omar’s park partners were able to answer the many park specific questions asked.
The Atrium Monopitch was arguably the star of the show on the lodge side, making a striking first impression with its monopitch roof and extensive glazing. Designed for a view and lending itself perfectly to a large decking area, perhaps with the luxury addition of a hot tub, the Atrium Monopitch is a stylish lodge with a contemporary edge.
Visitors loved the layout for it’s practicality and style - a spacious central living space with lounge, dining and kitchen areas provides a sociable main hub to the lodge and double bedrooms either side (both with en-suite facilities) provide privacy and space to all guests.
The contemporary interior design and colour scheme were also popular features with visitors commenting how the lodge had a lovely relaxed holiday vibe.
Claire Tallon, Retail Sales & Showground Manager for Omar commented: “The Atrium Monopitch is a lodge with real wow factor and visitor reaction at the show proved that! The layout is perfectly designed for holiday practicality for families or friends alike, but not just that, it’s also luxurious and contemporary with a lovely feel that will see guests wanting to come back time and time again.”
Omar’s other lodge on display, the Alderney, also left a strong impression. A recent addition to the range, the Alderney is an affordable, contemporary and light luxury lodge with a distinctive split roofline and large picture windows.
Inside, accommodation includes a large spacious living area, which has a light and bright conservatory feel due to the picture windows and patio doors, and three bedrooms. The third, single bedroom also acts as a study – perfect for work or holiday assignments!
Visitors were heard to comment on how the lodge had a warm and welcoming feel and in particular loved the soft natural colour scheme, kitchen with contemporary island extractor and choice of furnishings.
Liam McCarthy, Area Sales Manager for Aria Resorts who purchased the lodge commented: “The Alderney really stands out in the style stakes and will make the perfect addition to our luxury lakeside park on the Isle of Wight – Rookley Park. The lodge when sited will include decking and a sunken hot-tub and is available for sale at £214,670; the perfect holiday retreat!”
On the park home side, the Elveden Cottage stood out for being refreshingly different in park home design. With a lovely warm cottage feel both inside and out and cottage comfort and character at every turn, the Elveden Cottage created quite a stir!
With a stepped roofline, chimneybreast, Tudor beams, boxed out windows with A-grade cedar cladding detail and stable front door, the exterior radiates cottage charm.
Inside, true to cottage style, no two rooms are the same and interesting features meet you at every turn. Cottage style beams, a warming electric stove set on a tiled hearth, a farmhouse-style fitted kitchen and a beautiful Victorian style roll-top bath with ball feet are just a few of the features this beautiful home has to offer and visitors loved it all!
Donna Christie, Area Sales Manager (North) for Omar commented: “If you love the feel and comfort that a cottage-style home provides, the Elveden Cottage ticks all the boxes. ‘I could live here’ was often heard commented throughout the show! The model displayed has already been sold to Turners Parks Group and will be sited at Twinbrook Park, Cornwall - available for sale at £230,000. Twinbrook Park provides the perfect countryside setting for the Elveden Cottage and I’m sure it won’t be available for sale for long!”
The final home displayed on the Omar stand, the Ikon, provided the perfect contrast to the Elveden Cottage. Contemporary, with striking styling and an on-trend colour scheme of greys and plums, the Ikon offers a modern take on park home living.
Long slender windows, feature A-grade cedar cladding and a false chimneybreast all come together to create a contemporary and sleek look and French doors off the lounge open up the living space outside.
Inside the layout includes a kitchen / diner and a lounge separated by double doors. This provides the option to open up the living space or to have separate rooms.
The contemporary colour scheme and modern styling is practical, relaxed, comfortable and easy on the eye. Features such as the high-gloss kitchen with large breakfast island and the double bedrooms with hotel-style lamp tables were popular and visitors loved the light and spacious feel created by the feature glazing and vaulted ceiling to the lounge.
Steve Taylor, Area Sales Manager (South East) for Omar commented: “The Ikon is a popular model within our range and always receives positive feedback. Designed for Sandy Bay Residential Resort in Essex, the colour scheme in the model displayed was slightly different from our standard model and was exceptionally well received, so much so that certain elements may become standard! If you didn’t make it to the show then why not take a trip to Sandy Bay when it’s been sited – available for sale at £309,995.”
Omar Group Sales & Design Director Peter Berwick commented: “The Motorhome & Caravan Show provides a fantastic opportunity to introduce our park homes and lodges to a wider audience. Visitors were genuinely taken back by the quality of the homes and lodges on display and surprised at how affordable they can be, depending on location of course! Having our park partners working with us also worked really well as it provides another dimension; particularly valuable for those new to the idea of the lifestyle.”
Paul Michael Skillen, Director at Park Evolution, acting on behalf of Presthope Grange (a new residential development in Shropshire) commented: “Working alongside Omar on the stand gave us a great opportunity to talk to visitors and give a flavour of park living. There was a great turnout and some of the visitors were so interested that they’ve already visited the site!”
The Motorhome & Caravan Show may have been the last opportunity to see Omar out on the road for 2018 but they’re back, full steam ahead for 2019 with new and exciting models planned for launch throughout the year.
