Omar impresses at The Lawns with new luxury lodge models

Omar impressed both trade and public alike at The Caravan Extravaganza (The Lawns) earlier this month with four luxury lodge models for visitors to view including two stunning, all-new models.

Inspired by Omar’s popular, contemporary styled Ikon park home, the Ikon Lodge, unveiled for the first time at the show, was an instant hit. The distinctive exterior, with its tall, slender windows took on a whole new feel in this fully clad lodge model (also available in a range of other colours and claddings) and visitors loved the fresh, modern and sophisticated exterior styling.

Inside, the layout was a real talking point with visitors commenting on how it was unusual to have a separate lounge and kitchen / diner in a lodge and how well this worked. The contemporary colour scheme of greys, creams and plums which flow throughout proved popular along with a whole host of stunning and note worth design features including: the large master bedroom with its generous storage and indulgent en-suite with feature shower; the beautiful feature bath; the elegant simplicity of the hotel style beds (perfect for the lodge market!); the large, bright kitchen / dining area with stylish breakfast island and not to forget the spacious lounge with its stunning feature chimney breast and French doors.

Peter Berwick, Group Sales & Design Director for Omar commented: “From talking to our customers, it became clear that the Ikon park home would lend itself very well, with adaptions, as a lodge model. Its strength seems to be that it offers something a bit different, not just in terms of interior design but also in it’s layout; we are delighted at how well it has been received.”

Also, launched at The Lawns was the new Apex lodge, another model that dares to be different. Retaining its distinctive hip tiled roof but with a revised layout and a beautiful new colour scheme of soft natural tones, highlighted by marine blues and greens, the all-new Apex certainly drew in the crowds.

The conservatory style, semi open-plan living space, which incorporates a kitchen, lounge and dining area, is spacious and light with panelled ceilings, that mirror the pitch of the hip roof, making a striking internal feature.  Central to the living space a clad feature wall houses a contemporary wall-hung fire to one side and a stylish console table to the other. The high gloss, contemporary kitchen comes complete with a full compliment of integrated appliances and a skylight over the dining table allows light to flood in creating the perfect environment for dining. Visitors loved this arrangement, particularly the central feature wall that draws your eye to the panelled ceiling, accentuating the feeling of space and light.

As for the bedrooms, these are large enough to include double or twin beds and the master bedroom has a stylish en-suite with large, fully tiled walk-in shower. The bathroom and en-suite come with beautiful freestanding vanity units and in the model displayed there was even a third, single bedroom that could act as a study.

Tom Conman, Area Sales Manager (North) commented: “The new Apex not only offers something a bit different to a traditional lodge, it also has a lovely relaxed feel to it, perfect for the leisure market.  The lodge went down exceptionally well on both the trade and retail days and I’m sure it will be a firm favourite going forward.”

The Westfield once again impressed the crowds with its beautiful colour scheme, affordable price tag and fantastic build quality.  Visitors were surprised to learn that as with all Omar lodges, the Westfield is built to BS 3632, the residential standard.  The contemporary, open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen areas and fully fitted kitchen with integrated side-by- side fridge and freezer, four-burner hob, built under oven and stainless steel extractor hood were very well received with visitors particularly commenting on the light and bright feel and practical layout.

Nathalie Montague, Area Sales Manager (South) commented: “The Westfield is the UK’s most popular letting lodge and it’s easy to see why.  The lodge has a lovely warm and welcoming feel, provides plenty of space to relax and unwind, and comes at a surprisingly affordable price, an important consideration for many parks.”

The Southwold Platinum (single) lodge on display with its striking full glass front aspect, integrated appliances and contemporary interior design also proved its popularity. As an affordable introduction to lodge living, yet without compromising on style, visitors were surprised to learn that the Southwold is also built to the full residential standard, BS 3632.  A spacious and airy open-plan living space, generous sized bedrooms along with carefully chosen furnishings and a fresh colour scheme all come together to create a wonderful holiday environment. One visitor was heard to comment: “it’s everything we’ve been looking for but didn’t think we could afford.” I think that says it all!

Summing up the show, Omar Group Chief Executive Officer, Dean Westmoreland commented: “The Lawns provides a perfect platform to showcase new season models and to see friends and customers old and new. This year the reception to our new luxury lodge models, particularly the Ikon Lodge, have been exceptional which is testimony to the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Omar.”
