New Technical Director for Omar Group
Omar Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Lee Pearce as Technical Director; a move which follows his appointment as Technical Director Designate, and marks the transition into a new era for the group under an amended ownership structure.
Lee is well respected in the industry and has over 27 years technical and design experience, much of which was gathered during his two stints at Omar. Lee will join Omar Group’s senior management team and has also been invited to sit on the NCC technical panel. Lee replaces John Hobday-Pepper, who will retire at the end of July after 40 years of outstanding service to both Omar and the broader industry, with his committee roles at the NCC and BSI.
Lee Pearce, Omar Group Technical Director commented: “Having re-joined Omar in 2014 after five years at Homeseeker, it was always with the of view replacing John when he retired. I will be sad to see John leave as he has been a real inspiration to me as well as being a font of technical knowledge, but I very much look forward to playing an active role around the board room table. I will work tirelessly to maintain Omar’s reputation for innovation and class leading designs”
Dean Westmoreland, Omar Group Chairman & Chief Executive commented: “We’re delighted to formally welcome Lee Pearce to the senior management team as Technical Director. Lee’s technical knowledge and experience in the industry is a true asset; it also comes at an exciting time, where, with significant investment from Rutland Partners to fund further expansion, there are many new opportunities and challenges ahead.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank John Hobday-Pepper for 40 years of outstanding service to Omar Group and to the broader caravan industry, it’s been a pleasure to work with him. I’ve always been impressed by his encyclopedic knowledge and diligence in all matters technical. Given his length of service and contribution to the wider industry via the NCC and BSI I’m sure the entire industry will join me in wishing John the very best in a well earnt retirement.”
